From my ancestors to yours, welcome.

I'm a neuroscientist, card reader, and practitioner and student of curanderismo exploring the places where science, spirituality, and ancestral knowledge meet.

 

I earned my PhD in Neuroscience from Vanderbilt University and spent more than a decade in scientific research and science-related work before LaTarotina grew into something much bigger than I originally imagined. Today, I use that training alongside my experience with tarot, Lenormand, curanderismo, and other metaphysical practices to ask questions that don't always fit neatly into one way of knowing.

I'm especially interested in what happens when we take ancestral practices seriously without needing science to validate them while simultaneously asking what neuroscience, psychology, and physiology might help us understand about ritual, intuition, dreams, altered states, and the ways our bodies respond to & sense the world around us.

 

My work is also deeply rooted in learning, cultural preservation, and curiosity. I don't position myself as having all the answers. I'm documenting what I learn from teachers, traditional practitioners, family knowledge, research, and my own experiences—and inviting you into that process with me.
